Sapporo Bar Hopping (Night Tour)

“Izakaya” is a famous Japanese style of restaurant or bar and Japanese office workers often loosen their ties and go drinking after work at an Izakaya !

It’s such an interesting cultural insight.

On this tour, you will enjoy Susukino with local guide on foot, where there are many izakayas and bars – and you will get introduced to 3 of our locally recommended izakayas and bars to enjoy drinks and food. 

You can enjoy beer and Japanese sake (as well as soft drinks), and also a wide selection of a casual meals like yakitori, sashimi, and other snacks. And you can join a small group to enjoy the city with, alongside a local guide to explain the places and introduce some behind the scenes knowledge. 

You can experience the “Izakaya” culture and learn about Japanese food culture.

For example, with the first drink, customers are usually served a small appetizer called “otoshi” – before ordering their next courses. 

We want to introduce the local atmosphere of Sapporo, where you can meet local people, and make new friends easily whilst drinking and eating together.

Susukino is one of the most popular night areas of Sapporo, where people like to drink alcohol and eat shoulder to shoulder.

But it can be intimidating if it’s your first visit to Japan, don’t speak Japanese or you’re a solo traveler! Where do you start? If you are interested in Japanese food culture or enjoy drinking with others on a night out, let’s enjoy and explore Susukino together!

In this tour we will go to 3 “Izakaya” or Japanese style bars. The first is a favourite, recommended by local Sapporo people, the second is guide recommended, and the last is a well-kept-secret place. We want to introduce real local culture!

Departing from Susukino station at 6pm, first we will walk directly to a local izakaya – one of the casual Japanese standing bars.

After this, we will go an izakaya restaurant where we can have a selection of alcohol, such as beer, wine, whiskey and Japanese sake (which is guide recommended and a local favorite).

The third izakaya is a local secret, and you will have to wait to discover on the night. But we promise you’ll have a great time!

Izakaya and bars in Sapporo do not only provide alcohol, but many delicious food and snacks. These izakayas usually promote themselves on the quality of their food, such as local cuisine using famous local ingredients.

Many different types of people drink and eat in izakayas, such as young, old, business men and groups of friends.

We’ll officially finish this night tour at 10pm, or maybe you will want to stay and talk with your new friends.
