This was my second tour with Travel Hokkaido — the day after my tour to the Nikka Distillery, Otaru canal, Tenguyama. My guide couple — Rio and Hestia — were not just wonderful but warm. The onsen warmed my body but my heart was warmed by them. This tour has a great combination for one who likes hot springs and good food, and good company. It was my first time trying an outside onsen with snow all around and two little snowmen looking on from a rock. The various Indian curries/masalas after the onsen will fill your stomach and worm you from the inside. One will sleep very well after all that. The hot spring is a comfy 39-40 degrees celsius so you can stay inside for a longer time without getting overheated quickly like most sentos. The day before I had listened to several music boxes in Otaru playing the theme song from \”Tonari no Totoro\”, so in ending this review, I can say \”Tonari no Rio, Hestia, Travel Hokkaido\”. Mata Ne!!
